Student Service Team (SST)
The Student Service Team is an interdisciplinary group that uses a systematic process to address academic, social, behavioral, or emotional difficulties. SST consists the guidance department, teaching staff, administrative personnel, and the school nurse. The student and parents are also active members of the team. If applicable, outside services are involved with consent to ensure continuity of care for the student. Members of SST work together to support the needs of identified students. The team accepts referrals from school administrators, teachers, students, and parents.
When a student is referred to SST, the following process takes place: 1) identification of needs, (2) assessment, if necessary, (3) educational plan, (4) implementation, (5) follow-up and support, and (6) continuous monitoring
