Events and Activities

Parents, below are the VMAPA events and activities for the upcoming school year. Under the descriptions, it will list where volunteers are needed. There are many positions available for all Villa Maria Parents. Your involvement is the force behind the success of our social, service, and fundraising events scheduled throughout the year. Please submit your volunteer form to ensure that our event chairs have the needed volunteer power to run a successful event. August to October 2024

New Parent Welcome - August 27

Tuesday, AUGUST 27, 5:45 PM

This event kicks off our school year. All new parents are invited to a light reception and information session held at VMA. New parents get to meet and mingle with the parents of their daughter’s classmates. A formal invitation will be sent out with an agenda for the evening.

Fall Campus Decorating - September 2024

Parent Nights Out - September 4, 11 and October 2, 9

The Villa Maria Parents Association will be hosting parent social gatherings at McKenzie Brew House in Malvern starting at 6 p.m. Appetizers and fountain drinks will be provided by the VMAPA. Join us to meet other parents in your daughter's grade.

Senior Parents: Wednesday, September 4th - Registration closed.
Junior Parents: Wednesday, September 11th - Registration closed.
Sophomore Parents: Wednesday, October 2nd - Registration closed.
Freshman Parents: Wednesday, October 9th - Registration closed.

Father/Daughter Cornhole Tournament - September 15

Sunday, September 15th, 1:00 p.m.

The Father/Daughter Cornhole Tournament will be held on the turf field on campus and brings together dads and daughters for a double-elimination tournament. Drinks and snacks included.

Back to School Night - September 19

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS AND CLASSROOM VISITS: 6:00 - 8:45 PM

Mark your calendars to attend Back to School at Villa Maria Academy. Please join the Villa community to start the school year gathering together.

Your attendance is expected at the event, which begins at 6:00 pm.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day - October 9

Note: This event is for freshman grandparents/special friends only

Wednesday, october 9, 12:15 PM

All freshman grandparents/special friends are invited to campus for a prayer service, light refreshments, and a tour of the campus with their granddaughters. It is a fun day to welcome our grandparents/special friends to the Villa campus and the Villa family. Our students take pride in showing their grandparents/special friends around campus!

Mother Daughter Fashion Show - October 27

sunday, October 27, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The Fashion Show is a long-standing tradition at VMA. This year’s event will be held at Overbrook Country Club and will highlight the upcoming fashions modeled by our senior parents and students. There will be an auction and many vendors available for a quick shopping spree. Lunch included. Many volunteers are needed to make this event spectacular!

November and December 2024

Sneaker Collection (Shoe Drive) - Week of November 4

BEFORE SCHOOL

Donate your shoes for a good cause! Students are asked to drop off donated shoes in the collection bins the week of November 4th. In exchange, they can wear their sneakers to school on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. All styles of shoes, not just sneakers, that are new or gently used will be donated to In Ian’s Boots.

The Shoppes at Villa - November 8-9

Saturday, November 9 (preview november 8)
9:30AM – 2:30PM

Return to Green Tree for a shopping extravaganza or as a vendor. In its 14^th year, the Shoppes offer beautiful gifts for your family and friends. Maybe you’ll find a little something for yourself! The Shoppes is open to the public with FREE admission and is run by our Alumnae. Proceeds benefit the Sister Mary Kelly Scholarship Fund.

Christmas Campus Decorating - November 2024

Tree Lighting - December 1

SUNDAY, december 1, 7:00 PM

Villa Maria opens the school’s celebration of the Christmas season with the annual tree lighting. Students, staff, and family meet in the cafeteria with traditional carols. After hanging ornaments on the tree to represent each class, and lighting the first candle on the Advent wreath, the group will process out to the parking lot and gather around the evergreen tree out front.

Students read several brief reflections on the meaning of the Christmas tree and its lights before flipping the switch to light the tree for the first time.

All adjourn to the cafeteria for refreshments. All are welcome and this is a free event. Kindly RSVP to help us know how many to expect!

FEST is Villa Maria Academy’s largest event fundraiser of the year. This year’s event will be held at Loch Aerie Mansion in Malvern. Many hands are needed to make this a successful event. We hope you will join us this year at FEST! The FEST committee and Villa Maria Academy thank you for your support and participation.

Mother-Daughter Communion Breakfast - April 27

Join us for the Mother-Daughter Communion Mass and Breakfast! Mothers, daughters, aunts, sisters, and grandmothers come together to share in a lovely tradition, celebrating Mass and enjoying a bountiful, catered Sunday breakfast together. The event takes place on campus with Mass beginning at 10:00 am followed by breakfast and festivities. Senior mothers and their daughters will be honored at this year’s event and wished a fond farewell as the seniors set off on their new adventure in their life’s journey.

Class of 2029 Information Night - May

The VMAPA welcomes the incoming freshman to Villa Maria Academy and offers them assistance in navigating VMAHS. This is an informational night for the incoming class of freshman students and their parents. We need a few volunteers to introduce the Villa Maria Academy Parent Association and our role here at Villa.

Uniform Sale - June

Multipurpose room - regina mundi hall

Departing seniors are asked to donate their gently used uniforms back to Villa. They are resold to the underclassmen at a discounted price. The sale takes place in the Regina Mundi multi-purpose room

The VMA School Store

The Villa Maria School Store is open for business in the Marian Center, offering Villa spirit wear, school supplies, balloons, snacks, and other fun Villa items like blankets and bags.

Monday to Thursday, 2:40 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday, 2:40 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The store will also be open during special events on campus.

Villa Maria Academy Outreach Ministry

VMA has a wonderful program in place to help families that need assistance due to unforeseen circumstances anytime throughout the year. We are here to help with meals, carpools, and above all, prayer. All correspondence is private. Private submissions or requests can be made online. God’s Peace. Online requests can be found under Parents/Outreach Request on our website.
