VMAPA Volunteers

Parents, please review the activities listed below where volunteers are needed.  There are many positions available for all Villa Maria Parents. Your involvement is the force behind the success of our social, service and fundraising events scheduled throughout the year. Please submit your volunteer form to insure that our event chairs have the needed volunteer power to run a successful event. General Volunteering Opportunities

Hospitality Committee

Serve as a Villa Maria Academy Parent Representative at scheduled events.  Parents greet guest, hand-out information, aid with registration or serve as an Usher.

Mailing

Assist in any school mailing for any department

Baker

Prepares donated foods for social events

Donations

Be willing to supply an item from a wish list. e.g. water, paper products, etc.

Fall Decoration

Week of October 12th,  Chair Needed. This group of volunteers decorates Villa Maria Academy for fall.

Christmas Decoration

Sunday, set up  November 29th – take down December 22nd. Chairs Needed. This group of volunteers decorates Villa Maria Academy for Christmas.

Father Daughter Tailgate and Field Day

Sunday, November 8th, Chair: Perry Cozzone, pcozzone@verizon.net.  This group of volunteers will help with planning a fun Dad Daughter Day with a backyard tailgate and fun field activities.

Hurricane Golf and Tennis Classic

Fashion Show

Sunday, November 1st , 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Co-Chairs:  Joanne Bamber, bbamber@comcast.net and Judy O’Leary, judyeoleary@comcast.net.  The VMAPA hosts a Fashion Show and Luncheon for the ladies of the Villa Maria Community. Donations are greatly appreciated for the Lucky Lotto Auction.

Sneaker Collection

Thursday, November 12th,   7:55 a.m. Co- Chairs: Judy O’Leary, judyeoleary@comcast.net,  and Kathy Ayers, Kathyayres1@comcast.net.   Volunteers are needed to collect donated used sneakers from our student and distributed to a local charitable organization.

Christmas Social and Service Gathering

Tuesday, December 8th, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Chair is Needed.  VMAPA hosts a Christmas Social and Service Project after school for all those who can attend. Donations are needed to support community service project.

Faculty Christmas Social

Wednesday, December 16th Chair: Gretchen McHale, jgmchale@comcast.net VMAPA hosts a Faculty Christmas Dinner at a local Venue. Volunteers are needed to plan and prepare for a Christmas celebration for our faculty and staff.

Mother Daughter Communion Breakfast

Sunday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chair:  Co-Chairs: Anna Cozzone, amocozzone@verizon.net,  and Carolyn Sollecito, Sollecito5@msn.com.  VMAPA hosts a Mass and Communion Breakfast for the ladies of the Villa Maria Academy Community in celebration of Mother’s Day.

Honors Convocation Social

Wednesday, June 1st, 7 p.m. Chair: Still Needed Junior Parent volunteers needed to prepare a farewell social for the senior parents and their students after the Honors Convocation.

Uniform Exchange

Monday, June 13th, 9 a.m. Co-Chairs: Jen Pizzi, jharlacher@harmelin.com and Wendy Leland, lelandwd@verizon.net.  VMAPA collects, cleans and resells uniforms at a discounted price to all underclassmen.

Faculty Year End Luncheon

Thursday, June 9th Chair: Chair Needed.  Plan a light luncheon or dinner for the Faculty and Staff at the end of their school year.

Villa FEST

Saturday, February 28 Co-Chairs: Anna Cozzone, amcozzone@verizon.net and Jen Pizzi, jharlacher@harmelin.com. FEST — Fostering Educational Support Together — is the largest school fundraiser. There are many volunteer positions available. Please attend the first planning meeting to get involved. It is a great way to form friendships and enjoy fellowship with other parents.
