First Aid/Emergency Care
Children who become sick or who are injured at school will receive First Aid or will be allowed to rest for a short period in the nurse's office. Parents will be contacted if there is a need to refer a child for further treatment. School nurses are prohibited by law to diagnose injuries or illnesses. Please do not send your child to the nurse for diagnosis. Decisions regarding the need for medical care rest finally with the parents. Please keep the school nurse updated if there are any new health concerns, medical diagnoses, or prescribed medicines that may affect your child at school. This information is especially important in emergency situations. In the event of a severe injury or illness, 911 will be called and the child will be transported to the hospital.
All medical information needs to be updated yearly into our Magnus Health account.
