Calling all aspiring songwriters in Grades 7-10! If you wanted to learn how to write an engaging song with a catchy tune, great lyrics and exciting melodies, Join us for this amazing week at Villa. We'll explore rhythm, storytelling, lyrics and melody-making. Learn the mechanics of songwriting, tips and tricks to writing a song and even get to preform your songs on the last day! It will be a week of fun and learning writing individually as well as with a co-writer.

This class is taught by singer/songwriter, Hayley Roberts who has been a semi-finalist in the International songwriting competition, has released 10 songs on Spotify and other music outlets and is currently writing songs in Nashville, TN.  If you play an instrument, bring it to camp.  If your strength is lyrics, we will pair you up with musicians.  If you’ve never written a song or want to further develop a song you are working on,  this is the perfect opportunity for you. In this camp, students will learn things like idea gathering, working with lyrics and rhyme, creating a chorus, structure of a great song, and a little insight to what it’s like to be a songwriter and some other career options in the industry. Each morning will have a session on a songwriting theme, time to practice the process and work on a song for the big showcase on the last day.
